Legend-The area on a map that tells you what symbols mean/It is important because you need to know what things mean on a map.

Author-Someone who created a work of print/It is important because you must know who did the map,for accuracy purposes.

Scale-The ratio of things to the real thing/It is important because you need to knwo how big/long things are in real life.

Source-The place that information comes from/It is important so that you know how accurate the map is
